Friday Fictioneers 18th April 2014

It’s Good Friday today, but every Friday is a good Friday because Friday is the day for Friday Fictioneers! Rochelle sent us this prompt:

monsters-dmm

And I’ve churned out 100 words:

“Daddy, Daddy, save me from the monster!” our daughter would squeal between giggles, hiding from the diving helmet I wore as we chased around the house.

So much has changed in the last three years, important things my wife and I took for granted have been lost. My job, her mother, our love, gone.

And during that time, I have changed. I am no longer what they need. If I have been drinking, I am the one who is a danger to them. So we need a break. Hopefully a short one.

I’m moving out. Saving them from the monster.
