She wasn’t impulsive, not usually. But sometimes her heart overruled her head before the debate had even begun. And she never regretted it once.

She had been right handing over hundreds of pounds she couldn’t afford for the painting she fell instantly in love with. And accepting the gallery owner’s offer of a glass of sangria to celebrate. And his invitation to sign up for the weekly art classes he ran at the local college. And telling her partner, finally, that if he didn’t like her having a life of her own then maybe he shouldn’t be part of it.
